Island Studios is a purpose-built studio complex for film, television and other media production. It is a key player in the Isle of Man film industry and has helped to attract many of the 100+ films that have been made on the Island.
Originally built in 2001 as Film Studios, the buildings have recently been renovated, refurbished and rebranded to attract a broader range of media and technology companies in addition to the film and television productions that we are known for. The management is encouraging media companies such as video game, web development, animation and video production, to consider the studio for longer term projects.
With our state of the art facilities, 5,000 square feet of office space and ample parking, all set in idyllic surroundings, Island Studios is ready to take your next project from vision to reality.
Island Studios is located just outside of Ramsey which is in the northeast of the Island and is the second largest town. It is only 40 minutes drive from the airport and 20 minutes from Douglas. There is also a new hotel located nearby in Ramsey.
The International Media and Technology Centre is a home for entrepreneurs in the digital, creative and production sectors. It occupies approximately 100,000 square feet on a 6 acre site located directly opposite Ronaldsway Airport.
The aim of the project is to provide flexible and affordable office and studio facilities both for start up and established businesses. Incubator areas on short term arrangements will be available to rent at affordable rates along with serviced units and on site management, all with a very flexible approach.
The available units range from just a few hundred square feet to 3000 square feet and larger where necessary. In addition, large studio areas are available for film production, conference, meeting rooms, events space and storage.
Connectivity is excellent with a direct link to the world class data centre in the adjacent building offering high speed bandwidth to meet all expectations.
The aim is to help new and existing businesses establish and develop and to promote networks for collaboration, which will be helped by the on site campus where people can meet to socialise and network. The intention is to create a dynamic environment where innovation can be nurtured by visiting mentors and the natural exchange of ideas among businesses with a common interest.
